DoodleMod lets you add your own word list so that custom words appear during rounds alongside (or instead of) the default ones.
How to Set It Up
Only the host can set up custom words, and it's done from the options menu in the waiting screen before the game starts.
- Make sure you've selected to play DoodleMod.
- Open the Game Options menu
- Toggle on Use custom word list
- A text box appears: type your words in, separated by commas
- Hit Save Custom Word List once you're done.
- Make sure to change the Custom Word Appearance Rate if you want your words to show more often. The default is 25%.
Word Rules
There are a few restrictions on what's allowed:
- Maximum of 100 words per list
- Each word can be a maximum of 20 characters long
- Only letters (a-z, A-Z), numbers (0-9), and spaces are allowed. No special characters or punctuation
- Each word needs at least one non-space character
If any word breaks these rules, the whole save will fail with an error message telling you what went wrong. Fix the issue and save again.
How the Appearance Rate Works
Once custom words are enabled, not every word that comes up will necessarily be from your list. There's a separate setting called Custom Word Appearance Rate that controls how often a custom word is picked versus a default one.
The default rate is 25%. That means roughly 1 in 4 words will come from your custom list and the rest will come from the normal word pool.
What Happens When Custom Words Run Out
The game tracks which words have already been used to avoid repeats. If your custom word list runs dry (every word on it has been used), the list resets and words from it can appear again.
This only applies to the custom list. The default word pool resets separately.
